Tatum Public Works Department maintains the water supply and wastewater treatment plant. If you are needing assistance or information from the public works or maintenance, you can contact 903-803-3586.

New service can be established during regular office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm) at Tatum City Hall located 680 Crystal Farms Rd, Tatum, TX 75691.
Necessary Documentation
The applicant will need to provide a valid picture ID (driver's license or ID card) for identification purposes.
Deposits - Cash or Check Only
Home Owner Deposit - $100.00
Renter Deposit - $150.00
Income Property Owner (Rental) Deposit - $50.00
Owner will be responsible for monthly water bill after renter has disconnected service if owner wants water service to remain active.
Outstanding Balances
If the applicant owes an outstanding balance at a previous address, the outstanding balance and a new deposit will be required before service can be connected.

WHERE YOUR WATER GOES
A family of four uses an average of 225 gallons of water a day. Seventy (70) gallons of this is hot water. The average water usage for a single person is fifty-six (56) gallons of water a day. Below is a list of water comsumptions.
- Conventional Toilet 4 to5 gallons per flush
- Water Saving Toliet 3.5 gallons per flush
- Shower (5 minutes) 150 gallons
- Full Bath 20 to30 gallons
- Half Bath 10 to15 gallons
- Washing Machine 25 to 35 gallons
- Dishwasher 11 to 16 gallons
- Hand Wash Dish (each time) 9 to 14 gallons
- Car Washing (one hour) 1,600 gallons
- Cleaning House 3 to 9 gallons
- Food Preparation 5 gallons
